You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In order to subtract two fractions, you must have a common denominator, preferably the Lowest Common Denominator (LCD). In this case, your denominators are 15 and 20, and you need to find a number that both of these numbers divide evenly into. A good way to find the LCD is to start with the largest denominator, which is 20, and take multiples of 20 until you find one that is also divisible by 15. So, try 20, 40, 60, etc., and when you get to 60 notice that 15 and 20 both divide evenly into it.

Next, you have to multiply the denominators by a number to make each of them equal to the LCD which is 60. In the case of 15, multiply by 4. In the case of 20 you must multiply by 3. Now multiply NUMERATOR and DENOMINATOR of each of these fractions by the appropriate number, and it will look like this:

13%2F15+-+11%2F20
%2813%2F15%29%2A%284%2F4%29+-%2811%2F20%29%2A%283%2F3%29+
+%2852%2F60%29+-+%2833%2F60+%29+
%2852-33%29%2F60+
19%2F60
