  x are goats and (26-x) are ducks

Question states*** Altogether there are 90 legs.

  4x + 2(26-x) = 90 legs

     2x = 38

      x = 19, the number of goats.  7 ducks   (26-19)

CHECKING our answer***

   76 + 14 = 90 legs
