Question 54135: -1 less than or equal to 3 -2x less than 11
Solve each compound inequality. Write the solution set in interval notation and graph it.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The goal is to get the x all by itself in the middle, whatever you do to the middle to get x by itself you have to do to each end.

When you multiply or divide by a negative sign, flip the inequality signs.
Write in smaller to larger order. Keep an eye on the inequality signs. They still need to point to the same numbers.

This means that x is greater than (but not equal to)-4 and less than or equal to 2. Equal gets a bracket and not equal gets a parenthesis:
Interval notation: (-4,2]
Notice the similarity between the interval notation and the number line graph:
Graph:
<------(============]--->
-6,-5,-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4
