Question 448194: The DVD Statistics show that the average person watches 48 DVD’s a year.
1.Write an equation to show the total number of DVD’s watched in one year. Use x for the number of action DVD’s and use y to represent the other categories.
X+y=48

The average person watches 3 times as many action DVD’s as any other category.
2.Write an equation to show the relationship between the action DVD’s and the other categories.
3x+y=48
This is what I came up with but it doesn't work out for one, and just doesn't seem right. I think my first answer is correct but the second part is not right.
