Question 352207: A new car worth $45000 is depreciating in value by $5000 per year. Write a formula that models the car's value, y, in dollars, after x years. Use the formula from part (a) to determine after how many years the car's value will be $10000. Graph the formula from part (a) in the first quadrant of a rectangular coordinate system. Then show your solution to part (b) on the graph.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A new car worth $45000 is depreciating in value by $5000 per year. Write a formula that models the car's value, y, in dollars, after x years. Use the formula from part (a) to determine after how many years the car's value will be $10000. Graph the formula from part (a) in the first quadrant of a rectangular coordinate system. Then show your solution to part (b) on the graph.
a) y=45000-5000x
now plug in y=10000
10000=45000-5000x+ subtract 45000 from each side
-35000=-5000x+ divide each side by -5000
7=x+
So after 7 years the car will be worth 10000.

I did not see question b) in the problem.
