You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If 2 is subtracted from a number and this difference is tripled, the result is 6 more than the number. Find the number.
Let x be the number we are searching.
So, 2 subtracted from x is written x - 2.
The difference (x - 2) is tripled means to multiply the quantity (x - 2) by 3 and then equate that to (x + 6)
3(x - 2) = (x + 6)
Can you solve for x now?
