Question 1191314: If two dices are rolled.what is the probability that either the sum of two will be seven or atleast one of the dice will show the number 5 Found 2 solutions by Boreal, Alan3354:Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Probability of a sum of 7 is 6/36
at least one die shows a 5 is 1- probability neither will which is 1-(5/6)^2=11/36
probability that both occur will happen when the die is 5/2 or 2/5, and that has probability 2/36.
So the answer is the sum of the first two minus the third, which is double counted
this is (1/36)(6+11-2)=15/36 or reduced to 5/12.
