Question 1145286: On the third day of a school fundraiser Nicole sold 14 bags of flour bulbs this was twice as many as the second day on the second day she saw two more bags then on the first day how many bags of flower bulbs did she sell on the first day?
My work: (sorry if it’s bad, I’m confused)
Let x= how many bags of flower bulbs that were sold on the first day
3rd=14
14/2=7-2=5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let +x+ = bags of flower bulbs sold on 1st day
+x+%2B+2+ = bags of flower bulbs sold on 2nd day
For the 3rd day:
+2%2A%28+x+%2B+2+%29+=+14+
+2x+%2B+4+=+14+
+2x+=+10+
+x+=+5+
5 were sold on the 1st day
----------------------------------
check:
2 more were sold on the 2nd day, so
+5+%2B+2+=+7+ sold on 2nd day
------------------------------------
twice that were sold on the 3rd day, so
+2%2A7+=+14+ sold on 3rd day
OK
