Question 1108810: please help me answer the following question:
Is the following equation: +Y=+F%2AL%5E3%2F48EI+ a linear equation and why?
where:
L = length of beam (m)
y = deflection of beam (m)
F = force (N)
E = Young's Modulus (N/m^2)
I = moment of inertia of beam (m^4)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
please help me answer the following question:
Is the following equation: +Y=+F%2AL%5E3%2F48EI+ a linear equation and why?
------------
It is linear if L, E & I are constants.
Then Y is a linear function of F.
o/w not linear due to cubic term and E & I in the denominator.
