Question 179219: if I am graphing a linear equation and the answer is
-x=9 does that mean that the answer changes to x=9 since x can not be negative or do I have this mixed up with something else.
I have to graph the linear equation which is -x=-8y+9
When I do it I did it this way
-x=-8y+9
-x=-8*1+9
-x=-8+9
-x=1 is the answer, but does this change if there is a rule that you can not have a negative x?????

Determine whether this statement "makes sense" or "does not make sense" and explain your reasoning. Because the percentage of the U.S. population that was foreign-born decreased from 1910 through 1970 and then increased after that, an equation of the form y = ax^2 + bx + c, rather than a linear equation of the form y = mx + b, should be used to model the data
