Question 565125: 2x - y = 10
4x - 2y = 7
I am supposed to use elimination, when i tried it several times i kept ending up with this:
-4x + 2y = -20
4x - 2y = 7
This would cancel both the 4x's and 2y's.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you add the last two equations together, you'll get

0x+0y = -13

or

0 = -13

which is always false. So there are no solutions and this system is inconsistent.
