You can put this solution on YOUR website! #1 In its business plan, a new restaurant predicts that the average amount each customer will spend per visit is $45. The average cost of ingredients per customer will be $22. The overhead cost to run the restaurant will be $12,000 per week. Find the number of customers that must be served each week to break even.
.
Let x = number of customers
then
"revenue" - "cost" - "overhead" = "profit"
Since we want to "break-even": "profit"=0
"revenue" = 45x
"cost" = 22x
"overhead" = 12000
.
Your formula:
45x - 22x - 12000 = 0
