Question 1118704: I am having trouble setting up this equation.
Two angles are supplementary. One angles ensures 24 degrees less than the other angle. Find the measures of the angle.
So far I have:
x + y=180 and x=y-24
But I do not know if this is correct.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

One angles cross%28ensures%29 MEASURES 24 degrees less than the other angle.

x and y, angle measures

x%2By=180----------they are supplementary

x=y-24----------x is 24 degrees less than y.

Exactly the way the description is said.

You can simply substitute for x.
