Question 1059869: -4x+4=4y
Y=2x

Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-4x + 4 = 4y
y = 2x

-4x + 4 = 4(2x) {substituted 2x, in for y, into top equation}
-4x + 4 = 8x {multiplied 4 by 2x}
12x = 4 {added 4x to each side}
x = 1/3 {divided each side by 12}

y = 2x {bottom original equation}
y = 2(1/3) {substituted 1/3, in for x, into bottom original equation}
y = 2/3 {multiplied}

x = 1/3 and y = 2/3 {the point of intersection of the two lines}
