In this video lesson I show how to solve systems of linear equations using the substitution method. First, I explain what a system of equations is and show the differences between a system of linear equations and regular linear equations. The difference is that a system has 2 variables and 2 equations, instead of 1 of each. Then I do some examples: in the substitution method, you focus on a single equation first and solve for one of the variables the same way you would with a regular linear equation. Then you plug in the value of this variable, in terms of the other variable, into the second equation. To see how this is done and how to finish the problem, watch the lesson.
