In this video lesson I solve systems of linear equations using the elimination method. This method relies on subtracting one given equation from the other to eliminate a variable. But before you do that, you have to make sure that both equations have the same constant multiplied times the variable you are getting rid of: you can do this by multiplying one of the equations on both sides by the right number. After subtracting the equations, you get one equation with one variable which you can solve for. To get the first variable, you plug in the one you already know and solve from there.
