Question 516905: I don't know how I got this wrong....One number is two more than a second number. Five times the first is 11 less than 4 times the second. Find the numbers.
I came up with the following equations:
x=2+y
5*X=4*Y-11
The value of the second number is 21. Apparently, this was wrong.
The value of the first number is 23.
Please explain.

Question 516945: I just statred college after I was off for 10 years. In high school I loved it and did great at it, but now steping in the college level they give only one examply for multiple of variations. Where could I look on the web for good examples on college algebra so I can better understand it. Another thing to if I do a problem and dont know if it is right I dont know if I am doing it correct.
