Question 1011687: I'm noticing a lot of the solutions are solving the wrong problems. The solution oftentimes reverses the signs of the original problem, thus demonstrating the wrong answers. For example: the problem is 6x+y=28, 3x+4y=7. However, the solution is solving for 6x-y=28, 3x-4y=7. What? There are many of these. Is anyone actually using these examples and verifying them? If so, I'm super surprised this has not been discovered and corrected.

Question 1011774: The owner of men's clothing store bought six belts and eight hats for $140. A week later, at the same prices, he bought nine belts and six hats for $132. Find the price of a belt and the price of a hat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WHAT I KNOW
The equation for the first time he bought his items wod be 6b+8h=140
The b would stand for belts while the h would stand for hats
The other equation would be 9b+6h=132. I know that i have to multiply a number so o e of the variables would be the same but i do not understand the rest. Thank you for looking through my question. Have a nice day
Question 1011764: When the fundraiser began, 600 people wanted to purchase the dance troupe’s T-shirts at $12 per T-shirt, but as the group increased the price of their T-shirts, they noticed a fall in the demand. For every $1 increase in price, the demand fell by 50 shirts. The dance troupe’s initial supply was short by 210 T-shirts which corresponded to an initial price of $9.75. For every $1 increase in price, they ordered 40 more T-shirts. Write a system of linear equations to represent both the demand and supply for the T-shirts. Let q represent the quantity of T-shirts and p represent the price
