Question 984355: ABC corportion is making a rectangular sign that is 20 ft. long with trim around the edges. What are the possible widths the sign can be if there is at most 48 ft. of trim? Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
If the sign is 20 feet long, then each lengthwise edge needs 20 feet of trim, or 40 feet. That leaves 8 feet to cover the two ends which one presumes are the same measure. You can finish the problem from here.
