Question 979301: y=-3x+4
y=2x-6
Answer by Timnewman(323) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Note that you are required to find x nd y in;
y =-3x+4----(1) and
y =2x-6------(2)
Equating (1)and(2)
-3x+4=2x-6
subtrct 2x from bothsides,
-3x-2x+4=2x-2x-6
-5x+4=-6
subtract 4 from bothsides,
-5x+4-4=-6-4
-5x=-10
divide bothside by -5
-5x/(-5)=-10/(-5)
x=10/5
x=2
substitute for x in (1)
y=-3x+4
y=-3*2+4
y=-6+4
y=-2
The values of x and y is 2 and
-2 respectively.
