In algebra when we use the distributive property, we're expanding (distributing).
The Distributive Property lets you multiply a sum by multiplying each addend separately and then add the products.
The Distributive Property is handy to help you get rid of parentheses.
since you have and there is no number that multiply what is in parentheses we know that number is and we can write it as
now use the distributive property to get rid of parentheses:
....multiply each addend by ....recall the rule: minus*minus=plus
