You can put this solution on YOUR website!

In algebra when we use the distributive property, we're expanding (distributing).
The Distributive Property lets you multiply a sum by multiplying each addend separately and then add the products.
The Distributive Property is handy to help you get rid of parentheses.
a%28b+%2B+c%29+=+ab+%2B+ac
since you have 6-%282x-8%29 and there is no number that multiply what is in parentheses we know that number is -1 and we can write it as 6-1%2A%282x-8%29
now use the distributive property to get rid of parentheses:
6-1%2A%282x-8%29 ....multiply each addend by -1
6-1%2A%282x%29-1%2A%28-8%29....recall the rule: minus*minus=plus
6-2x%2B8
14-2x
