: I tried to work the problem and couldn't come up with the same answer that the book has. I just want to know how to work the problem so that I can get the right answer. The book has the answer as (4,3), and I don't understand how it was gotten. Here is the problem, 3x-2y=6 over y=3 the instructions say to solve by graphing. You can put this solution on YOUR website!
FIRST WE NEED TO PUT THESE EQUATION INTO THE LINE EQUATION FORM Y=mX+b WHERE (m)=SLOPE & (b)= Y INTERCEPT.
3X-2Y=6
-2Y=-3X+6
Y=-3X/-2+6/-2
Y=3X/2-3 (RED LINE)
Y=3 (GREEN LINE)
+graph%28+300%2C+200%2C+-6%2C+5%2C+-10%2C+10%2C+y+=+3x%2F2+-3%2C+y+=+3%29+ (graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 10, of TWO functions y = 3x/2 -3 and y = 3).
NOTE: THE INTERSECTION OF THESE 2 LINES IS (4,3) WHICH IS THE SOLUTION.
