Question 827595: This my system of linear equation problem.
3x+2y = -1
5x+4y = 0
I get this step right.
Expressing x as a function of y (from the first equation) x = (-1 -2y)/3
How do I get my answer from this cause this is where Im getting confused

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x+2y = -1
5x+4y = 0
%285%28-1-2y%29%2F3%29%2B4y+=+0++

multiply equation by 3
%28%285%28-1-2y%29%2A3%29%2F3%29%2B4%2A3y+=+3%2A0++

-5-10y+12y=0
2y=5
y=5/2
plug y in any equation above you get x=-2

Try Elimination Method.
Multiply the first equation by 2, and then subtract one equation from the other equation.
