Question 821670: if a system has an infinate number of solutions use set buider notation to write the solution set if a system has no solution state this (the substitution method
t=4-2s, t+2s=6
the answer I got then got lost was
(4-2s)+2s=6 please help

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if a system has an infinate number of solutions use set buider notation to write the solution set if a system has no solution state this (the substitution method
t=4-2s,
t+2s=6
-----
Put both in slope-intercept form::
t = -2s + 4
t = -2s + 6
--------
Substitute for "t" and solve for "s"::
-2s + 4 = -2s + 6
4 = 6
-----
That is a contradiction resulting from thinking there was a (s,t) solution.
There is no such solution.
