Solving by substituting 2y-1 for x
3( 2y-1 ) - 5y = 2
6y - 3 - 5y = 2
y - 3 = 2
add 3 to each side.
y = 2 + 3
y = 5
Since x=2y-1, substituting
we get x = 2(5)-1
x = 10 - 1
x = 9
