You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x+10 = 5x-7
--> now subtract 5x from both sides to give

-x+10 = -7
--> now subtract 10 from both sides to give

-x = -17
--> now divide both sides by -1 to give

x = -17/-1

--> x = 17
