Question 779520: Due to higher leather costs, the price of a $300 designer coat went up by 25% A few months later, the coat went clearance sale at 25% off. What is the final price of the coat? Did you get anything unexpected? Why or Why not? Found 2 solutions by josmiceli, rickkampen:Answer by josmiceli(19441) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Going up by 25% means the coat sold for
------------------
25% off this price is:
The final price is $281.25
Gaining 25% and then losing 25% did
not result in going back to the
$300 original price
You can put this solution on YOUR website! $300×1.25=$375 $375×.75=$281.25
For a cost increase of 25% you multiply the original value as shown. (300×1)=300+(300×.25)=300+75=375
375@25% off=375×.75 which =281.25
Am not sure of the question of anything expected or otherwise.
