Multiplying both sides of eqn (1) by 4
44%2Fv+-28%2Fu+=4____________(3)

Multiplying both sides of eqn (2) by 7
63%2Fv+-28%2Fu+=+42____________(4)

Subtracting both sides of eqn (3) from both sides of eqn (4)
63%2Fv+-28%2Fu+-44%2Fv+%2B28%2Fu+=+42-4
63%2Fv+-44%2Fv+=+38
19%2Fv+=+38
v+=+19%2F38=1%2F2

Substituting this value of v in (1) we have
11%2F%281%2F2%29+-7%2Fu+=1
22+-7%2Fu+=1
7%2Fu+=22-1=21
u+=7%2F21=1%2F3

Thus u+=+1%2F3 and v+=+1%2F2 is the solution.
