You have properties of numbers available. Some help to maintain equality.

Process for this equation:
Add negative x to both sides.
Multiply (1/2) by both sides.
You now have y on one side of the equality symbol and an expression on the other side of the equality symbol.

-x is the additive inverse of x.
(1/2) is the multiplicative inverse of 2.
