You can put this solution on YOUR website!
solve this equation using the elimination method:
x + 6y = 79
x - 4y =-41
------------Subtraction eliminates x, find y
10y = 120
y = 120/10
y = 12
:
Find x using the 1st equation
x + 6(12) = 79
x + 72 = 79
x = 79 - 72
x = 7
:
:
Check solutions of x=7, y=12 in 2nd equation
7 - 4(12) = -41
7 - 48 = -41

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
multiply either equation by -1 and add them
x+6y=79
-1(x-4y=-41) ==> -x + 4y = 41
x + - x + 6y + 4y = 79 + 41
10y = 120

...
Multiply the first equation by 2 and the second by 3, then add
2(x+6y=79) ==> 2x + 12y = 158
3(x-4y=-41) ==> 3x - 12y = -123
2x + 3x + 12y + -12y = 158 + -123
5x = 35
