Hi,

x + y = 2    |multiplying 1st EQ thru by 6 & Adding to  eliminate the y variable

5x-6y=15

 11x = 27

   x = 27/11  and y = -5/11  27%2F11+-+5%2F11+=+22%2F11+=+2
