   x +  3y =  4    

     7x = 7 ,     x = 1  and y = 1    | (2%2A1+-+y+=+1)

      8x + 5y = 13  

 5%2A3x-5%2Ay=+5%2A2        |multiplying 3x-y+=+2 thru by 5 to  eliminate the y variable

         23x = 23 ,     x = 1  and y = 1   | (3%2A1+-+y+=+2)
