5x - 3y = 8, -5x + y = 4

y=4+5x

5x-3y=8
Substitute y in (2)
5x-3(4+5x)=8
5 x + -12 -15 x = 8
5 x -15 x = 20
-10 x = 20
/ -10
x= -2
Plug the value of x in (1)
-5x+y=4
-5*-2+y =4
10+y=4
y = -6
