(1) +-2x-y+=+-9+
(2) +5x-2y+=+18+
Multiply both sides of (1) by +2+
and subtract (1) from (2)
(2) +5x-2y+=+18+
(1) +4x%2B+2y+=+18+
+9x+=+36+
+x+=+4+
and
(1) +-2%2A4-y+=+-9+
(1) +-y+=+-9+%2B+8+
(1) +-y+=+-1+
(1) +y+=+1+
The solution is (4,1)
