1 x + 1 y = 1 .............1
2 x -1 y = -2 .............2
Eliminate y
Add the two equations
3 x = -1.00
/ 3
x = - 1/ 3
plug value of x in (1)
1 x + y = 1
-0.33 + y = 1
y = 1 +
y = 4/3
