Hello,
x+y=-10
x=y+6
Substitute the the second equation in first,
x+y=-10
(y+6) = y-10
y+6 = y -10
y - y = -10 - 6
0 = -16
This tells us that there will be NO SOLUTION!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+y=-10
x=y+6
---
Substitute for "x" and solve for "y":
y+6+y = 10
2y = 4
y = 2
----
Solve for "x":
x = y+6
x = 2+6
x = 8
------------
Solution: (8,2)

how do you solve
x+y=-10
x=y+6

x + y = - 10 ---- eq (i)
x = y + 6 ---- x - y = 6 ---- eq (ii)

2x = - 4 ----- Adding eqs (i) & (ii)

x = -4%2F2, or highlight_green%28-2%29

- 2 + y = - 10 --- Substituting - 2 for x in eq (i)

y = - 10 + 2

y = highlight_green%28-+8%29
