2) 4x-5y=7
make both have the same # of X's or Y's. Since it's easier w/ X, multiply #1 by 4
1) 4x%2B12y=24
2) 4x-5y=7
Subtract #2 from #1, don't forget the 5y is negative (-- = +)
17y=17
y=1
