y+=+x+%2B+3 is the equation of a line in the slope-intercept form that starts with "y=", tells you that the slope is 1 (the number invisibly multiplying the x) and the y intercept has y=3.
Parallel lines have the same slope.
Slope is the difference in y-coordinate for two points on the line, divided by the corresponding difference in x coordinates.
If a point (x, y) and (5,0) are on a line with slope 1, then
