You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graphing Linear Equations is a broad topic but lets start with the problem you have given.
y=2x-6 This problem tells you that your y-intercept is (0,-6) and that your slope is 2. Now with that info you are ready to make the graph.
1st plot) will be your y-int: (0, -6) put your point at -6 on your y-line of the graph.
2nd plot) Now to find your next point use your slope which is 2 OR 2%2F1. Take your dot at (0,-6) and go up 2 and to the right 1.
3rd Plot)at (1,-4)
4th Plot) at (2,-2)
~*~The slope is easy to decipher: if the NUMERATOR is positive go up the y-axis: if negative go down the y-axis. if the DENOMINATOR is poitive go to the right along the x-axis: if negaitive go left along the x-axis.
Examples:
3%2F2 = up 3, right 2
4%2C-7 = up 4, left 7
-8%2F5 = down 8, right 5
-2%2F-5 = down 2, left 5
