You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let a = price of 1 hotdog (in cents)
Let b = price of 1 drink (in cents)
given:
For John:
(1) 6a+%2B+4b+=+670
For Jessica:
(2) 4a+%2B+3d+=+465
Multiply both sides of (1) by 3
and both sides of (2) by 4
Then subtract (2) from (1)
(1) 18a+%2B+12b+=+2010
(2) -16a+-+12d+=+-1860
2a+=+150
a+=+75
Then, from (1)
(1) 6%2A75+%2B+4b+=+670
450+%2B+4b+=+670
4b+=+220
b+=+55
The price of a hotdog is 75 cents
