divide 31 from both sides
x=2x+6
divide 2 from both sides
1/2x=6
x=3

x=2x+6 <---- YOU'RE GOOD UP TO HERE.
You need to get all the x terms on the left, everything else on the right.
Subtract 2x from both sides.
Go from there and re-post if you get stuck.
Also, you can always check your answer with the original equation.
