Question 274486: perimeter of a triangle
The perimeter of the triangle shows the accompanying figure 12 meters

You can put this solution on YOUR website! perimeter=sum of the three sides of a triangle
here the sides are x,x+1 and x+2 means
1st side= x
2nd side=x+1
and 3rd side=x+2
perimeter=1st side+2nd side+3rd side
given perimeter=12
12=(x)+(x+1)+(x+2)
12=x+x+1+x+2
12=3x+3
isolate x subtract 3 on both sides
12-3=3x+3-3
9=3x
dividing both sides by 3
9/3=3x/3
3=x
1st side=3
2nd side=x+1=3+1=4
3rd side=x+2=3+2=5
check:
1st side+2nd side +3rd side=perimeter
perimeter=3+4+5=12 which is given in our problem
