You can put this solution on YOUR website!
9x-5(3x-12)=30

Step 1. Multiply out the terms to get rid of the parenthesis and be careful or aware of the minus sign:

9x%2B%28-5%29%2A%283x%29%2B+%28-5%29%2A%28-12%29=30

9x-15x-60=30

Step 2. Combine the x-terms and add 60 to both sides of the equation

%289-15%29x-60%2B60=30-60

-6x=-30

Divide by -6 to both sides of the equation

-6x%2F-6=-30%2F-6

x=5

Check...9x-5%283x-12%29=30...9%2A5-5%283%2A5-12%29=30....30=30...a true statement.

Step 3. ANSWER: x=5

I hope the above steps were helpful.
