You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y-1-y=y%2B1 Start with the given equation.

-1=y%2B1 Combine like terms on the left side.

-1-1=y Subtract 1 from both sides

-2=y Combine like terms on the left side.

y=-2 Rearrange the equation
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer:

So the answer is y=-2

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(y-1) -y =y+1
simplify by combining like terms
-1 =y+1
subt 1 from both sides
-2=y
checking
(y-1)-y=y+1
( (-2) -1) -(-2) = (-2) +1
-3 +2 = -2 +1
-1 =-1 ok
