Question 1112070: I am having a difficult time figuring this one out.
Suppose that a household's monthly water bill (in dollars) is a linear function of the amount of water the household uses (in hundreds of cubic feet, HCF). When graphed, the function gives a line with a slope of 1.75
If the monthly cost for 18 HCF is $49.66, what is the monthly cost for
22 HCF?
Answer by ikleyn(52788) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
If the monthly cost for 18 HCF is $49.66, then the monthly cost for 22 HCF is
49.66 + 1.75*(22-18) dollars.
It is exactly as the condition instructs you to do it.
