Question 1059127: A small factory can produce 245 sofas each day. After 3 days, there are 1235 sofas in stock. How many days of production will be needed in order to fill an order for 5400 sofas?
It's confuses me because I doon't know if I have to use the form of y=mx+b.
y2-y1/x2-x1 or the
y-y1=m(x-x1)
I have several problems like this it's call real-world models using point-slope. thank you

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
They are producing sofas at a certain rate,
and rate is the slope, +m+ in a linear equation
+m+=+245+ sofas/day
----------------------------
+1235+ sofas is a constant number of sofas you
start off with, but if you want to begin at day one,
subtract out +245%2A3+=+735+ sofas
+1235+-+735+=+500+ is the constant term, +b+
-------------------------------------------------
Now let +t+ = time in days to make +N+ sofas
The equation would be:
+N%28t%29+=+245t+%2B+500+
You are given +N%28t%29+=+5400+
+5400+=+245t+%2B+500+
+245t+=+4900+
+t+=+20+
20 days are needed to make 5400 sofas
( with the 3 days included, which I think they want )
Feel free to get another opinion, too
