You can put this solution on YOUR website!
p, peanuts pounds
c, caramel popcorn pounds

Expect the mixture to be 100 parts.

A snack mix is made from peanuts that cost $3.30 per pound and caramel popcorn that cost $2.70 per pound. The mixture costs $3.10 per pound. Does the mixture contain more peanuts or more popcorn?
Difference in prices of peanuts, per lb and mixture, per lb: $3.30 - 3.10, or $0.20
Difference in prices of popcorn, per lb and mixture, per lb: $3.10 - 2.70, or $0.40
As seen the price difference between the prices of peanut, per lb and mixture, per lb is closer ($0.20) than the difference in prices of popcorn,
per lb and mixture, per lb: ($0.40). It follows then that the mixture contained more peanuts than popcorn.
By the way, if there were equal amounts of each, then price of mixture, per lb = matrix%281%2C5%2C+%283.3+%2B+2.7%29%2F2%2C+or%2C+6%2F2%2C+or%2C+%22%243.00%22%29
