1.2x-y=-3
x+y=9
Below is the work that I did to attempt the problem, but i know its not correct.
x+y=9
x=9
(9)2x=18
x=18
18-y=-3
-18
y=-21

Question 699811: Hi,
the question is: solve each question by graphing. Graph each equation.
the two equations given are
1) 2x-2y=5
2) y=x-4
in the first equation y and x are on the same side, i only know how to do it when the equation equals y (like in the second equation) because, like in the second equations the x would be the slope and the -4 would be the y-intercept so in an equation like the first one i was wondering which one is slope and which one would be the y-intercept because i couldnt figure it out.

Question 700224: I was trying to find the correct term, but I couldn't find it. What I need help on is "Solving systems by graphing" I understand it perfectly, just not when the equation is like this. y=2x. How am I supposed to find the slope for this? I use the formula y=mx+b .. I don't know how to solve it when it's in that format. Please help for that one problem so I won't have any trouble solving it in the future. Please & thank you!
