Multiply the first equation by -1 to get -x+-+5y+=+26
Now add
+-x+-+5y+=+26
-6x+%2B+5y+=+16

-7x+=+42
x+=+-6
Plug x=-6 into the first equation above and solve for y
-6+%2B+5y+=+-26
5y+=+-20
y+=+-4
Check your answer using the second equation.
