Question 516631: hello i need help understanding whether an equation is linear or not. if the equation is linear than how do you write it in standard form and what are the values of a,b,and c if so. example,2x+y/3-4 Answer by richard1234(7193) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! "Linear" means "line" or "pertaining to lines" so if you have the graph you can easily tell if it's linear.
If you have the equation and can write it in the form Ax + By = C (A,B,C are real-value constants) then the equation is linear.
You'll have to rewrite your example since it is not an equation (you need an equals sign somewhere).
